Women only: First Gyno visit?

I am 21 years old and I am a virgin. I will be getting engaged soon and I plan to get on birth control before I'm married. I am planning on staying a virgin till my wedding day. I know that to get birth control I will need to go to a gynecologist and get a pelvic exam. I am just concerned how bad this will hurt if I have never had sex before. I appreciate your mature answers.
