Is it normal to have a vaginal discharge that has a thick snot-like consistency?

It's like a taupe color with reddish brown (possibly blood in it). I get it when I'm no on my period. I masturbate several times a week. Is this discharge a sign of masturbation? If I get it checked out will either a pediatrician/gynecologist be able to tell I masturbate? So I'm mainly concerned with whether this is some sort of infection, and if the doctor will be able to tell I masturbate.
