Important... URGENT!!!?
The NHS system generally requires you to be "referred" by your GP for any specialist assessment or treatment. This would usually be at an outpatient's clinic in a local hospital in the first instance. Routine gynaecological checks are done at your GP's surgery (i.e. pap smears, breast checks, but not scans). There maybe an NHS walk-in Wellwoman/Sexual Health clinic you can also use (be prepared for a very long wait to be assessed by a nurse first). If you want to find your own specialist, without going through your GP, then you would have to pay a private fee.
