I would like to wear make up for the first time, but I don't know how?

So, I'm 12, and I have sort of short hair. People are always mistaking me for a boy for some reason, but I think I look like a girl. Anyways, I really want that to stop happening, so I want to try wearing make up, I just don't know what kind to buy. I have shortish (to the middle of my neck) hair, a fair skin tone, and grayish blue eyes. I want a natural look that also makes me look more girlie. Any tips?
